In a bizarre collaboration that breaks traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Uncovered
According to the authorized announcement, "An unusual meeting draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where rumors of prohibited practices and monstrous changes reverberate through the darkness." The plot presents a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden cult.
The mission concentrates on "strange experiments and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Metamorphoses
The trailer highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Extra Material
Players who successfully complete the quest will acquire an exclusive katana together with several objects concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Update
This update also introduces the game's newest complimentary story content, titled "The Mystery." This playful quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic techniques: Naoe reveals a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
